Dr. Sherry Fu 傅思穎博士

Dr. Sherry Fu is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist at Taipei American School and Assistant Professor in speech and language development, voice disorders and swallowing disorders at the Mackay Medical College, Taiwan. This is her 10th year at Taipei American School working with bilingual/multilingual students with speech and language disorders. She has over 18 years of clinical experience in the areas of speech and language assessment and therapy of the bilingual/multilingual population. Dr. Fu has published research studies in peer-reviewed international journals, a chapter book, as well as held workshops and presented at international conferences on early language intervention, voice disorders and swallowing disorders. Dr. Fu is also serving on the board of directors of the Taiwan Voice Society and Taiwan Association of Resource Integration in Medical Care. 

Dr. Sherry Fu 是台北美國學校的雙語語言治療師,也是台灣馬偕醫學院的助理教授,專長領域為言語及語言發展、嗓音障礙和吞嚥障礙。這是她第 10 年在台北美國學校服務有言語及語言障礙的雙語/多語學生。Dr. Fu在雙語/多語族群的言語和語言評估和治療領域擁有超過 18 年的臨床經驗。Dr. Fu曾在同儕評閱的國際學術期刊上發表研究報告,出版章節書,並在國際會議上演講早期語言介入、嗓音障礙和吞嚥障礙相關議題。另外,Dr. Fu也擔任台灣音聲醫學研究會和台灣醫療資源整合協會的理事。

Behind the mask: What have we missed?

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a learning curve for teachers and speech-language pathologists. In this session, we will discuss the impact and challenges the face mask and distance learning has had on our children’s speech, language and social development; what to do when are concerned about these students; how to address these gaps and problems; and most importantly how can we work effectively as an educational team to assist students impacted.
